Analysis, technology, data, comparison, violin making and restoration work together to protect unique assets.
HAGA's goal is to preserve the historical heritage hidden behind every vintage instrument. That's why we combine skills from different fields: science, chemistry, and violin making, in order to synergistically certify the historical value.

We check the originality of an instrument through a process never used before in this field
ANALYSES
After a preliminary expertise by Enrico Crippa, our specialized in vintage guitars and basses luthier, the instrument is subjected to an in-depth analysis at the Arvedi Laboratory of Non-Invasive Diagnostics of the University of Pavia, based at the Violin Museum in Cremona, which provides us with certain information and data of the varnishes and the materials of the individual elements of the instrument.

COMPARISON
The luthier's experience in the field of organology, combined with the data stored in the HAGA archive, allows us to compare the laboratory analyses and provide a check-up of the originality of the varnish, the hardware and the electronic components, detect any previous restoration work and the general state of conservation.
CERTIFICATION
At the end of the process, the instrument's data is entered into the archive. Enrico Crippa, master luthier, completes his verification by issuing the HAGA Certification, a document that attests the instrument's originality.
